The cool fall morning breathed it's icy breath upon the girl as the rested in the large bed. Pulling the blankets up to her chin, she brought her legs up to her chest for warmth against the weather's seige. Winter was fast approaching. Already, frost had formed on the windows of the castle like vines eloping an ancient tree.

"Child, tis time to wake." A woman's voice cooed from across the bedchamber. The girl stirred in the bed, reluctant to open her heavy eyelids.

"Ye mother calls for ye miss." The woman continued, going to the bed to fold the blankets down. The girl stirred again, reaching for the blankets that had been drawn from her reach. She puled softly as she sat up, exhaustion etched into her cherub face. The past night had seemed surreal. Only fragments of it had been remembered.

Slowly, she managed to drag herself from the bed, standing beside it listlessly as the older woman aided her in dressing.

"My mother..." Viveka spoke softly, her words drained of emotion by her fatigue. After she was dressed, the woman wrapped a blanket around the girl's shoulders to provide warmth in the drafty castle.

After finding her mother, she was immediately introduced to the man which was supposedly her brother. Thoughts were racing through her head. Who were all of these people? Were they really her family or just impostors? Cold and exhaustion plagued her very being as she stood there, not truly knowing what to do. She had not carefully chosen her words and thus, had offended the female pirate which claimed to be her mother.

Utter hunger had caused her to become irritable, drawing away and responding sharply when Grania reached out to take the girl's thin shoulder into her grasp. With a strong jerk, she tore away from her mother, Viveka's dark eyes cutting into her's.

"I hate you." The girl's tight lips barely emitted the words as tears clouded her vision. Turning, she stomped out of the room rather childishly. Returning to the bedchamber, she threw herself down upon the bed, her petite body trembling as she was overcome by a flood of sobs.
