Edward maintained a diary, but for all intents and purposes, it was not a journal in the traditional sense. Sir John Cheke would review the young King's entries for errors relieving Edward of the need to put his personal emotions into it. The journals do, however, offer us a glimpse into the day-to-day activities of Edward's brief reign.
