If there was one thing Tolkien was keen on, it was to make sure that his characters didn't lack of magical apparel in their journeys. This thread is dedicated to the very "geeky" purpose of listing those items present in this book. ...

the rings? I think they had a touch of magic in them, too. But just a tad, you know. Nothing major. LOL (Tongue wholly in cheek there and in dire danger of being bitten off!)

"Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie."

(and that is probably the best known poem that Tolkien wrote.)
