    Siem Reap District

Siem Reap province, in the northwestern portion of Cambodia,
is near the Angkorian temple complex.

The land is generally flat with some low hills scattered around.

Nestled between rice paddies and stretched along the Siem Reap River,
small provincial capital of Siem Reap Town serves as the gateway
to the millennium-old temple ruins of the Khmer Empire.

It encompasses dozens of temple ruins including
Bayon, Banteay Srey and the legendary Angkor Wat.

It is the home of Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia
    and its interesting water cities:
Kompong Phluk, Chong Khneas, Chong Khneas to name a few.
