just about twenty years ago, I watched my then five year old daughter be totally entranced by women's Olympic gymnastics and try to copy the floor exercises in our living room.
Yesterday afternoon, I showed my soon to be five year old granddaughter the tape I made of the women's gymnastics of this year's Olympics.
She forgot about her regular TV fare and watched these young women do their stuff.
Granted, she will probably, like her mother, end up too tall/big for that, but she had the opportunity to see the possibilities open to girls.
That is what counts.
