This image is the result of an examination of some column construction techniques. The reference I used was Ancient Egyptian Construction and Architecture by Clarke and Engelbach.

It was interesting to look at the different styles of columns found at different sites. I appreciate the idea of including elements of the natural plant world such as lotus, palm, papyrus into the stone work. I hope to learn more about the construction of columns through discussion here.
