Cu Chulainn first went to Domnall and was taught by him. He learned many great feats but soon Domnall had no more to teach him and he set out for Scathach. When he got to the Island of Skye, so named after Scathach's Isle (pronounced Skatha's Isle), he came across a band of young warriors who told him that before he could meet Scathach he had to cross the Pupil's Bridge. It was said that no one could cross it unless they had completed their training in arms. It was of unusual design and the moment he stood upon one end the other end flipped and he found himself on his back on the grass. Two more times he tried to cross the bridge and two more times he found himself embarrassed in front of the young warriors. The temper took him then and he charged at the bridge and he performed the feat of the salmon-leap and leapt the bridge in one bound and made his way the Scathachs' Fort.

Scathach trained Cu Chulainn in all the crafts of arms. She taught him the apple feat, the thunder feat, the feat of the sword-edge and the sloped shield, the feats of the javelin and the rope, the body feat, the feat of the cat and the heroic salmon leap, the pole-throw and the leap over the poison stoke, the noble chariot fighters crouch, the gae bolga, the spurt of speed, the feat of the chariot wheel thrown on high, the feat of the shield rim, the breath feat, the snapping mouth and the hero's scream, the stroke of precision, the stunning shot and cry stroke, stepping on a lance in flight and standing straight on it's point, the sickle chariot and the trussing of a warrior.

In the final round, the candidates for Master of Every Art must confront the all-time expert warrior - Scathach! First you must cross the bridge to her island. Once on the island, Scathach invites you to accompany her on a hunt. A rare white stag has been seen in the nearby woods! Demonstrate your best Cu Chulainn feat before you may cast a spear at the stag.

Then you are welcome to feast with Scathach while waiting to find out who will be awarded the title of Samildanach.
