I too consider the EEs as the definitive version. However I'm still sorry that they did not go to the theatres. But here I'm probably biased against the scenes I don't like. For example, if the fight with the Cave Troll (ugh) had been shorter, the gift-giving at Lothlorien could have been included. But I can understand that each scene is loved by everybody and that it would be hard to choose!
