The Viking kissed me when we met,
Jumping from the boat he sailed in;
Time, you thief, who love to get
Sweets into your hoard, put that in:
Say I'm weary, say I'm sad,
Say that health and wealth have missed me,
Say I'm growing old, but add,
The Viking Kissed me.
My Boat to Me a Kingdom Is
(with thanks to Sir Edward Dyer)
My boat to me a kingdom is,
Such present joys it gives to me,
That it excels all other ships
That sail upon the great, broad sea.
When others have much wealth and gold
And I'll take all my boat can hold.
Some have titles, some have wit,
Somehave beauty, some have wealth,
Good for them to have such spirit!
May they rebuild their town in health
After I come to fill my boat
With so much stuff it scarce will float.
