Lugh is my favorite dei or semihemidemidei, whatever he is, or was.

The orb as the eye is also one of my favorites, Fenian. I believe he was half-human and the other half consisted of the seed of Balor. Lugh the young, the whizzledip, the all around town man, steady flowing against the grain. All eyes were on Lugh in those days, because he was before Cuchulain. He was the original thug.

The metaphor of the sun as the eye is the sight of Balor. Or rather, Lugh needed the power of Balor, so he took it. It all goes back to ancestor worship. Lugh was the Sun; Balor the Moon. The moon has been associated with the ancient in Irish literature. But no ancient literature goes past the 12th century, and that creates another problem.

The way Lugh took the eye of Balor, and with his spear? or was it a rock? anywhowherewasI, the metaphors are endless.

    Trip on this...

There are cities in every Celtic settlement associated with the Sun God. Was Balor the previous Sun god of the Fomorians?
