I am satisfied being a lowley servant to Ultimate Reality.
Ulysses is a pornographic novel, that much is right. ALthough I have heard the theory that Molly Bloom is actually Calypso. I don't buy that theory though. We all know that the pussy symbolizes an Egyptian hunny and Leopold was nobbin her.
So, Leopold is the Ulysses of the novel, and that would make Molly the Penelope character, and Milly would be Telemachus? I think Joyce is alluding that Milly was an ugly girl by comparing her to him.
More sexual references occur throughout the novel as well. Joyce was working on a secret code that would baffle Caesar.
The first letter of the first words in the two seperate parts are big and bold, much like Buck Mulligan. Also, the words are "Stately" and "Mr." which is obviously a reference to S&M sexual practices.
And although Joyce was high, he was too high with the omphalos.
We just hope that Gnaeus hides his daughters away from this book when they get older.
