"My meeting is over, Domitilla."

She lowered her eyes.

"Was it a short meeting?"

"Yes, Tilly, it was." Moving closer to her, he held on to her chin and brought it around to face him. "Now we can be together again. I want to show you the house I picked out for us. It's only two doors down from the Flavius home. It's on Pomegranate Street."

She swallowed nervously.

"Gaius, I'm not sure I am dressed right. Maybe we can go tomorrow?"

He shook his head.

"I will not take no for an answer. You know me better than that. Come with me now!"
