Although the date has been changed for Rome's turn in the spotlight, there are certain activities which could not be changed accordingly, for a variety of reasons. Nevertheless, here's what I have planned to sponsor.

For the entire two-week period of the Gold launch, a daily Visual Trivia question will be posted, but it's not a contest per se; it's more a self-quiz activity. It will consist of events drawn from the span of Roman history which are represented in various forms of art: paintings, drawings, sculptures, mosaics, coins, and architectural features. Each question will contain a link to a site where the answer can be verified. I'm not quite sure which board / thread will host it yet, so look for it!

On October 23, two activities are planned: a Mythology Maze, which will appear in the morning, and a Scavenger Hunt, which will begin around noon (EDT). The former deals with legends of Roman Heroes and Heroines. The latter provides an opportunity to vist the domus of your neighbors in Rome and to rummage for a list of 10 items. Prizes are planned for the first citizen to present a complete list. Again, the exact board / thread which will host them is undecided at present.
