    That there may be a connection between Ymir and a Sanskrit word or even some early Indian legends is certainly possible, given that the Germanic languages and Sanskrit are both Indo-European.

    The Egyptian "connection" seems much more dubious however. I think, if anything, this is more likely to be a coincidental parallel of some kind, since cow deities and fertility/creation legends about them are common in many cultures.

    And the flood story is unsurprising, since floods afflict most settled areas at some time or another and most cultures have a flood legend as a result. There are some crackpots, including fundamentalist Christian "Creationists", who think this means there once was a great, worldwide flood which is, of course, scientifically impossible. Not that this has ever stopped crackpots. *g*
