First, in response to one of reylari's comments. We have to remember that woman didnt have much in the way of rights then, that is if we're talking about a post christian time period. And if it wasnt merlin that did the chosing, it would have been some other male head of court. But, if we're talking about a pre christian time period, then the subject would warrant further discusion.

secondly in response to vorts last, what, two posts since my last? Yes malcolm does tend to star in some cheap crappy productions, but it is nice to see someone with a name you know in something that wouldnt generally attract a named performer. I think the poor bugger deserves a medal! Go Mal, by Teutates!!
Caligula? I havent seen it to my knowledge, but the name is familia. Thats not that almost pornagraphic roman epic is it?
As for druids in britain. Do we all agree that Ireland had druids? Do we all agree the the irish druids were similar to the continental druids? If we do, then of course britain had druids. britain and europe were trading with each other since early roman times, and other people would have been migrating, so why not continental druids? And after that there were the irish landing in scotland. Surely they would have had druidic support. The way i see it britain definitely had druids. I know this topic was big in 2002 on one thread, but i cant remember which, so i'll give my view here and now. Evidence or not, druids were in britain, and they would have served a similar purpose as those in gaul and ireland. But was merlin a druid, thats what we're looking for, isnt it? Not weather he wasnt a druid because britian didnt have druids?

Come on people, lets stoke up the fire of discussion. only three of us! what, does nobody else out there have a bloody TV!?

Do you not think this topic about the existence of merlin wouldnt be better served in "the man behind the king" thread? we kinda got away from the merlin movie topic abit there. shit, I know I did anyway. And you, Vort, I'm not the only numb-nut here. *grin* In fact, i'll poke my tonuge out and say, "but he started it"! *grin*
