    Since you say thus,you imply that any goddess with the epithet 'Regina'was protective? Couldyou elaborate?

    Interesting because the eastern extent of her range,Epona was given the epithet Regina too. I'm aware of two examples:

    Alba Iulia (Alba, Transilvaniei, Romania)
    'Epone Regina(e) Sanct(ae)'
    Duklja (Montenegro, Yugoslavia)
    'Epon(a)e Regin(ae)'
