I just thought that I would bring this topic up to the group of the uncanny connection with Fion mac Cumhiail and King Arthur.

One that I would like to suggest is the love triangle that surrounded both tales. In Arthurian Romances it was of course the Guenivere, Lancelot, Arthur triangle, while in earlier Irish tradition of folklore, The Fenian tradition states that Fion was betrothed to Grainne, the daughter of Cormac. It just so happened that at a feast in Tara, she laid eyes on Diarmait O'Duibhne and fell instantly in love with him. Now Diarmait was Fion's nephew, so that didn't make things easier on him.

There is more to tell of this tale, but I thought I would bring it up in case anyone wanted to comment on the connection here.
