Since the last post was in May, I may have arrived too late to add anything to this discussion. But, in case the topic is still open, here is my two cents.
First, the ideas for reviving the Baths, tavern, and slave market sound great! They were extremely popular before.
Pas de deux -- nice name for a Gallic tavern. I'll take the pressed duck, s'il vous-plait.
Also, the Circus. (i.e. the Chariot Races). I recall that we had them in AS and I have a fond memory of sharing a virtual picnic lunch there with a friend. We gossiped about the Imperial family and blew most of our hard-earned cash that afternoon. My plans for an early cushy retirement went up in smoke at the races! It would be nice if the circus could be revived, perhaps with some more enhancements to make the race longer and more suspenseful. The racing form that you had at AS was a nice touch.
Another suggestion would be a Theatre or Odeum where Roman plays and concerts could be held. Perhaps we could persuade our beloved Emperor Nero to perform. I understand that he is quite a thespian.
This is just a thought, but perhaps we could post short music files at the Odeum? Not sure if doing that is technologially workable or practical, however. Also, do we have any accurate record of what Roman music was like?
