No real path? How fast could we move
forward then? Do I understand correctly that the landscape should
not be too heavy for a march and does not present great problems
of slope? Right?
But we have to move on anyway, so this is how
we will proceed:
- We march towards Camala at normal pace and in an offence:
probe posture, we are to adopt the defence: slight
resistance if we meet the local forces. We are not to
engage in combat unless forced to.
- Even during the march keep troops on a
rein, let them compete in courage and discipline in order
to maintain state of readiness. Errant groups of the
barbarians may be met on our way, so we better be careful
than sorry.
- All night encampments are to be fortified
according to standard practice to avoid any surprises.
- We take with us what is left of the
garrison in Lancia and collect more provisions and
munitions on the way.
- At all times scouts are to be kept out to
watch for enemy forces and to look for the places where
troops could be ambushed.
I want to know - what is the morale of the
troops now? what's the situation with provisions and munitions?
