The turmae of cavalry previously assigned to escort the Gauls to the gathering at Mediolanum are to escort them back (total of 7 x 30 = 210 cavalry) and to remain in their vicinities watching movements and activity.
The remainder of Legio I Cisalpina is to immediately cease road construction and force march (Defense: Slight Resistance) directly to Genua (a distance of about 100 miliarum, so Faustus expects this march to take ~3-4 days). It's available cavalry (690) will scout ahead on either side of the road.
Also, Legio II Cisalpina is to split in two with half to remain in Aquileia and the other half legion (1500 HI, 500 LI, 450 CAV) to march from Aquileia (Defence: Slight Resistance) to Placentia via Metellium (approx. 300 miliarum). 150 of its cavalry are to take the alternate southern route to Placentia via Parma and report on any tribal activity or movements while the remainder of the cavalry, 300 strong, is to scout ahead of the marching legion. When Legio II Cisalpina arrives in Placentia, they are to resume construction of the road unless otherwise ordered.
Legio V is to remain in Mediolanum for now. I want constant scouting of 20 miliararum about Mediolanum.
