List of Springfest Plans so far and time schedule proposal On the last day of March, I would like to grab the opportunity to draw up a list of activities proposed so far and of the people who proposed them. To remind everyone, the Roman Springfest 2004 AD will be held in our beloved Rome on April 20th and 21st. I would like to ask everybody mentioned in the list to contact me (if I haven't contacted you already) to let me know if you can (still) work out/think about what you proposed for the Roman Springfest. Here's the list:
Graphic contest (Best Dressed Home/Avatar/Rome or Empire Runway), proposed by Diantha Livius* Roman Springfest Theme: Palilia & Romaea, proposed by Senex Caecilius* Create Your Birthday of Rome Card Contest, proposed by Senex Caecilius* ARS ROMANA Roman Art Contest, proposed by Hecate Flaminius Latin Literature Quiz, proposed by some SLL members Roman History Quiz, proposed by Paullus Fabius Etruria and Rome Culture Quiz, proposed by Tanaquil Sergius A Tour of Early Rome was mentioned, but it didn't really become clear to me, who might want to work on this. Roman Springfest Theatre, by Heraklia Aelius and..? (assistance is possible and welcome! Take-over also, if you really want to do it!*s*)
I think this is a lot for two days already! Still, if there are people who can't make it to work this out, there may be others who can manage to step in. Especially the graphic contests might require quite a bit of time and effort. *The above mentioned people with an asterisk proposed these activities, but are not necessarily the ones to antamate them. The Birthday Of Rome Contest is on the schedule and will be for all Roman and other citizens to take part in! Also, if there are other Romans with good suggestions and wanting to work on them, don't hesitate to come up with your ideas!
Proposed Time Schedule April 20th (all time indications are EST): 11.00 hrs: Roman Springfest Palilia Presentation 13.00 hrs: start of ARS ROMANA Contest 16.00 hrs: start of Roman History Quiz 18.00 hrs: start of the Graphic Contest (domus/avatar decoration/Roman or Imperial Runway) April 21st (all time indications are EST): 11.00 hrs: Roman Springfest Romaea Presentation (Rome's Birthday) 13.00 hrs: start of the Create Your Birthday of Rome Card Contest(1) 16.00 hrs: start of the Latin Literature Quiz 18.00 hrs: start of the Etruria and Rome Culture Quiz (1) The birtday cards can be posted earlier on the thread, but the contest will start at this time.
*All these times and the sequence of the diverse items and their outcome (i.e. the conclusion of the contests)is still very provisional and there are still many things which can be changed in date and time or altered in its content, but I thought I had to start somewhere; so please, if there is anything you would like to have altered or added, don't hesitate to bring it up, *s* In my humble opinion, the rate of contests is quite high and there is almost no other form of entertainment on the plan yet. Maybe some of you might want to come up with a live theatre play dealing with the Birth of Rome (an alternative Romulus and Remus play maybe??), which could be scheduled later in the day, so that the US members will have the opportunity to have their go at that while the Europeans are asleep....And there surely will be roon and motivation enough for a the races to celebrate in the true Roman fashion and a Banquet to conclude the Springfest on April 21st! In the preceding posts, there has been talk of interweaving the upcoming new Roman neighborhoods within the Springfestivities. I haven't highlighted this in this post, because I'm not sure now how the neighborhood developments will be at that time. We can still add some of that to the schedule as we go along... Well, I am sure there will be plenty of good reactions! *s* Cheers, Tan
