More stories will follow Merlin, I promise, but first a question: What Norse god do people have a special soft spot for, and more importantly, why? As I've made clear, I like Loki because he's a naughty god but also lovable and charming. As is made clear in the story of Balder's death, he can be an extremely malevolent being as well. He breaks the rules, like all gods should do, and the world is changed as a result - sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad. And his tricks are normally quite amusing as well. So, more nominations please!

As for your question, I'm not sure - but I have the feeling that Balder's there for good.
