    I remember that in the Silmarillion Beren goes travels through places that are dark and mountainous. Ered something or other? I haven't read it in awhile. But that is where Ungoliant's children dwelt I beleive? So was Shelob there already in the SIlmarrilion? And if there were others, did Tolkien ever give sign of where they went?
