    Visually it held my interest but I agree with Yngvildr that it was glossy but lacked real substance. The lack of anything to do with the art or religious aspects was probably because it was focused mostly on the military/warriors but they could have at least had a segment on the martial gods/goddesses that inspired these "barbarians". Last night the Aztecs were featured, and they did touch on the religious significance of human sacrifice with captives taken in battle. The Viking program came up short and left me wanting more - not necessarily more hordes of muscular men in fur and leather with flowing hair, but what inspired them. I think it was more than simply the "greed" that History Channel cited as a major motivation.
