I just wanted to add that Thiu's posts are quite enlightening, as well. I have always had the impression that Orcs and goblins were distinctly different species, but after re-reading Thiu's and Indis' posts on the matter, it has become a debatable question for me. And it has sent me back to re-reading LOTR, etc., for the third time this year. Does anyone know of a college or university that offers a degree in Tolkien? After the time I've spent on this group, and the data I've received from everyone here, I think a degree program would be nice ;).
