    I iverall agree with most of the posts on this thread. I do think that the Valar were still somewhat detached, but Drakus also provided good evidence that it was not completely of their own doing. Learning lessons and having choices are great, but it is still fairly hard to unerstand why a deity like in the Silmarllion would allow his children to suffer as long as they did.
