    or concept more in tune with that of some native American tribes who teach of the 'shattered mirror': if you take a large mirror and break it into innumerable pieces, you still have the mirror. It's just more widely dispersed, and the task at hand is to re-assemble it. In a similar way, the Great Spirit is throughout the world, and everything that lives is a part of what was once a unified whole. The task of humankind is to see the connections. Deism seems to me a bit too mechanical a concept for the elves...
