    I would also rather not see Phoenicia/Carthage under the same group as the Hebrews. They were too different culturally and religiously. Every time the Phoenicians made inroads into the Hebrew culture, the Hebrews rose up and threw them out in disgust. Although the Phoenicians first set up their trade routes inland, they and only they switched to a strongly maritime trade route.
