So much like the great Goddess Aset of my country. In my studies
I have come to find out that the Temple of Ishtar has a very
interesting custom of sacrificing to the Goddess. It goes like
this; every woman in the city must do her time in the temple as
a sacrifice to Ishtar, this sacrifice is done by sitting in the
temple with other women who are there for the same purpose. These women wait until a man chooses them by dropping a coin in
their laps. The chosen woman then goes into another room and
has sex with this man whom she may or may not know, and that is
her sacrifice, she is then free to go back to her life. It is said that the attractive women get chosen quickly, and that there are some women that have been there for years. I find all
    of this very interesting.
