"Gladiator was made as a pure entertainment, not a historical piece"

I think what you are doing is lionising fallacious historical propaganda on the grounds that Hollywood ("pure entertainment") rules unrestricted and that this Hollywood version of reality will drive all before it.
"Gladiator was made as a pure entertainment, not a historical piece"

May I correct you (as the Iraqi resistance is currently correcting you with US army casualties)?

Gladiator was a shit and mendacious version of history. And in general Hollywood pumps out a shit and mendacious version of what happens when the Yanks stroll abroad and start telling people how to live their lives.

I personally love American people with a deep devotion, but I know that their naieve ignorance has slid them into an unending & atrocious neo-Vietnam in Iraq, purely through a combination of arrogance and total f*&^ing ignorance.

American popular culture so desperately lets down the American citizen that I sit here in puzzled bewilderment that Americans have not long ago overthrown it,
