Disclaimer: This is not the end all of Framing options, just a brief entry into that style of image editing.(this is for V7, but V6 has similar instructions
to do the same, if you run into specific problems let me know in the Academy Classroom-PSP Tuts Q&A.)
At the end is some Post Tutorial help links and options, along with Ranting and Raving.
Do not read it if you like squirrels and are offended easily.

This tutorial is beginner-friendly, and while making some framing images around your pics/artwork,
you will work with the
Selection tool
Adding Borders
Adding Frames (PSP's frame wizard)
Shadow effects
Using Masks
and Buttonizing options
You will also get some experience in using your color pallete, tool options, resizing
abilities and many more. None of these too indepth, but once you've used them once, really exploring
your options in the future will be alot easier!
Let me briefly explain some terms that I will be using frequently in the following tutorials before we begin.
Editing Bar-that navigation bar at the top of the program window, also pictured here as the top of this
table.
Tool Bar-the long skinny bar you see to the left here, with the tiny pics of tools.
The Tool Options-A box or rolled up box denoting the tool options that always comes up when you choose a tool, if you don't see it
right click on any tool in the toolbar and choose 'tool options'.
Color Palette-the colorful thing to the right, located in the bar. Mainly the two rectangular boxes
denoting background and foreground like this:

Here are good instructions on adding in more frames into that wizard folder we'll be using next tutorial, and general use.

Now for my little rant. There are tons more sites on the 'net that offer free downloads and/or tutorials
of frames for PSP (pfr files), but after just looking at a few (including Cutups and others) I felt queasy.
Yes, I know I'm rude. But it's the truth. See if you have a beautiful piece of art or photo, and
you want to frame it in a way that sets it off, you don't cover the thing in some gadawful oval
covered in cavorting fairies, huge glittery bunches of gold, curlicues, arabescues, guarding gnomes
or what have you. They ruin the natural beauty, and make me want to vomit. In my rl home I collect
silk Q'om persian rugs, and Mughal period miniatures. Now both of these are high detail works,
so to set them off, I frame them in simple matte white, black or coordinating color. I keep the items
around it as low key as possible. Because anything else would take away from it right? Now this is just
me.
On the other hand, you may wish to download some frame or make your own from tutorials linked or
provided that are covered in furry smiling squirrels munching on acorns. With some gold googly-floos
hanging all over it. That's perfectly fine. Just please refrain from asking me what I think of it,
because I will have no choice but to evade the question to avoid being rude.
Now, for some really excellent framing ideas for your AW artwork or even for home.. Here's what I do:
Visit one the 'nets many online art galleries for posters. (like
All Posters.com's site and click on Framing and Mounting. Up will pop a heavenly array of
beautiful, simplistic styles for your viewing pleasure. (and allposters framing area even has color options)
Always gets my creative brain swirling, and I bet it will yours too. So just keep the squirrels and fairies
away from me, ok?
