as wandering around this great metropolis looking for an appropriate place to launch this theme, and after many cul de sacs, I came across here, an old abandoned thread by the name of 'Pompeii'.
What are your great scary moments from ancient history, real or imagined? Being under Versuvius when it erupted, being a gladiator or worse Russsell Crowe (only joking *s*) or maybe being a centurion with a heart condition when Cleopatra says to you 'don't worry darling we 'ave all night and I've given the maids the weekend off.'
Nero to the Senate: I say chaps I've just written this little piece which I 've called 'Pax et Bellum' and
thought I'd recite it to you all tonight!
Caesar's unsuspecting surgeon rushing up to Brutus and Cassius: he's got a fair few flesh wounds but thankfully he's
reasonably lucid and sitting up in bed, asking for you.
Varus addressing his centurions in the Teutoburgian Forest:
'guys there's been a slight change to operation KICK GERRY CELT UP THE BACKSIDE, we're now calling it RUN LIKE HELL'!!!
Varrus addressing his tribunes in the Teutoburgian forest:
now then guys there's been a slight alteration to operation KICK GERRY UP THE BACKSIDE, we're now going to call it RUN LIKE HELL!
I'm sure you lot can do better?
