All accounts that I've looked at mention the immense impact of his mother on Caesar during his childhood, and in fact throughout his life. Aurelia sounds like a remarkable and formidible woman. Would anyone care to weigh in on this and expand on it? I'm more familiar with the Empire than with the waning days of the Republic, so would appreciate the impressions of those other worthies who are more familiar with this period. Pomponia? Heraklia? Any one?
All the Best,
Quint.
