It is quite interesting the fact that the exact dating of the Minoan chronology has been based on the corresponding Egyptian one, the development of which is well known by its inscribed archaeological features. And for that reason, either Egyptian artefacts, which have been brought into light in Crete, or Minoan artefacts found in Egypt have been used. Of course, there are Egyptian corresponding archaeological evidences found in the end of the Neolithic Period’s strata in Crete, and which can mislead us, as the inscribed Egyptian artefacts cannot be easily dated. In that case, Babylonian artefacts in graves have been also taken into account. In particular, a cylinder of the Babylonian king, Hammurabi has been found in a tholos grave in Platanos.
At about 2000 BP, Minoans showed high communicational skills, through their trade to Cyclades, Egypt and Asian coastlines by the exchanging of materials. Skills, which never stopped to developed through the later major period of their existence.
