I've finally torn myself away long enough from the natural wonders of the US to post what I would have done earlier had I had the opportunity. The fact that this is now after the event is really immaterial.

Regardless of best intentions, it's always unwise to assume tacit approval of an action. This was my mistake when I cemented into place the dates for both nominations and voting in the recent elections and sent letters to all Arachne members to instigate the proceedings.

By doing so, I usurped our then Weaver I's right to determine the timely progression of events in consultation with others.

It was an unfortunate decision on my part. That said, my sincere apologies go to AzureEyes who, to her credit, tried to make best of a difficult situation in which she had no hand in creating.
