Chicago, that Toddling Town.
Do you remember how late I came to table at the Berghoff because my watch was still on Alaska time? Nerva sat at the opposite end of the long table and glowered at me all through the meal. I learned later that he was distressed because his salad was getting warm. Then on to the lovely antiquity display and the rain storm that I so enjoyed while everyone else bemoaned the weather. We do not have such lovely hard rains up in Anchorage.
Then on to the Windsor Lounge where we all stayed late, doing what one does in lounges.
The next morning, we all went to visit the Egyptian Section at the museum with our beloved lil redheaded docent and say hello to Cornelia's mummified husband. That was after I slobbered in my room over some wonderful tomatoes that Artus brought for me.
Vine ripened, and so different from the hard things called tomatoes in Alaska.
Ahh, the memories of that weekend. Such joy. Did you know that Artus is now married. A lovely beauty. They invited me to the wedding and I went!
To all and sundry........I am delighted to at last be in your midst.
