OK. So nothing survives of his literary work, but there are some inscriptions of speeches (or fragments of such) left, like the one already referred to on this topic?
If we consider the fact Claudius still was quite an important man, and we do have some extant literature from his time, why is it that it was not preserved to us? Is this because he was so un-Christian, or just - not a good writer (as there are many very distinctly "pagan" authors the works of whom have survived because people appreciated them as art throughout the middle ages... like, perhaps, Vergil)?
