    Well, I think that Neo-platonists did things and interpreted Platon in a way that would probbaly not have found the appreciation of their name patron.

    However as you quite correctly state, there is a problem to define the boundary between occultism (what is hidden), magic and 'normal prayer' asking God(s) for supernatural intervention.
