I, Prince Palacus Enkidu, son of King Idanthyrsus Enkid of Neopolis and proud Scythian sat inside my royal yurt in deep thought. I have recieved two reports today. One from my father telling me to allow none of the 'polished gentlemen' to sweet talk me into a hasty decision. My father forgets that I am a man now, and though I haven't all the knowledge he's gained, I am aware of our situation. I fear no man and will allow not one of them to tie my hands in this situation. What do I care of their war? My people have lived in peace for years, never bothering a soul and we will continue to do so. Our people have seen many kings rise and many kings fall as well as empires and we shall continue as such to be only observers unless out tastes run somewhere else.
The second is an even more serious situation.
