Phoebos slowly materialized in his little room at the Duo Gales. His little trip to Alexandria had been quite fruitful and interesting. Father Basil would expect some penence for having missed an entire week's worth of divine offices. Phoebos smiled to himself at that thought. The Christians here on Chios were far more civilized than their brethren in Alexandria. Quite the unholy bunch of fanatics they were! A gentle breeze blew through the window over the table. It was late so Phoebos decided to lay down and go to sleep. Tomorrow's session with Father Basil would be "interesting." Pheobos decided to use the excuse that he had been in thoughtful meditation up in the hills of Chios for the last week--contemplating the concept of Christian Love as outlined by St. Paul in his letter to the Corinthians. "That should work as a cover," he thought. The breeze felt good on his skin. Phoebos was asleep in no time.
