I could stay here all day with Chares. But alas, the sun crossed the meridian hours ago and the shadows lengthen. Time has been flying by while we lounged together under drifting clouds in the thyme-scented grass on the hill overlooking the blue harbor.
"Dear Chares, the gods will be displeased if you neglect your Helios much longer. I had better leave for now and let you get back to work!"
Gathering up what remains of the lunch, I deposit them in the basket and prepare to leave.
"Stay just a little longer!" He urges, catching my hand and pulling me down onto the grass beside him. We kiss.
Reluctantly, I pull myself away. Smiling and shaking my head, I say, "Dearest, I really should go. Let us meet later at the Rhodehouse. I'll wait for you there."
