Forgive me if this has been made aware to you all, but I saw a site which claimed that the Phaistos disc was a mathematical proof of some sort...is this actually true, or is it a guess?

Seems to me I saw something somewhere that a similar disc (or possibly the same one?) was actually an inventory list of the palace at Knossos--am I totally deranged, or has anyone else heard this interpretation?

Clarification would ease my fevered thoughts!
