...that could possibly be created?
Even in the times of AS, I had wondered whether it would be possible to set up Haithabu (aka Hedeby) -- a Viking trade port on the Baltic, founded approx. 800 CE and destroyed around 1100. A full-blown city in its prime, this place was possibly the most powerful city on the Baltic, as well as a melting-pot of cultures (trade from all over the then-known world went via Hedeby; Celtic as well as African and Arabian artifacts have been found at the site; some items are theorized to have originated in India or even China).
In case Haithabu as a place is for some reason not acceptable, I could also very well imagine Rungholt, Uppsala, Odense, Bergen, Ribe...
I guess my strongest point in favour is that Haithabu (as well as the other places) deals with a culture that was different from the others already represented here at AW; the unique character of the people -- and the place -- would IMHO offer all sorts of opportunities for fun, discussion and possibly roleplay that otherwise would go largely unnoticed inside the more generalized threads of the other cities represented.
I realize that setting up a new city takes a lot of work -- esp. on the graphics. I am willing and able to lend a hand there if needed, and wanted.
