    From what I understand, Ulysses is best tackled as part of a Joyce reading group of intrepid souls all attempting to read the same book. I have heard of people having reading groups to attempt to read Finnigans Wake. My only foray into Joyce was Portrait of the Artist. Like your War and Peace misadventure, I got very close to the end, but did not quite make it.
