I agree it’s only fair that we move this discussion elsewhere by setting up a new group. As to a name – “”Auctoritas”, “Auspicia”, “Testudo”, “Lustrum”?

So far as money in game is concerned my idea is to make this and its effects a pure game mechanic, involving no actions by players save for an initial decision as to whether they will indulge in trade. I’ll put something in writing if there is enough interest for us to get that far.
