In the middle of winter, when cold winds and icy snow encourage
illness, weakness and gloomy dispositions, we in Rome are
privileged to have a bountiful source of well-being and medicine.
The waters of the Pool of Juturna give comfort, healing, hope.
Now, two days before the Ides of January, as Rome celebrates holy
Juturnalia, we invite you to be good to yourselves. Drink the miraculous
waters, gain the strength to fight winter chills, aches, fevers, coughs.
Bring your own cup or use this ancient Mycenean vessel to bring
Juturna’s spring waters to your lips. Specially trained virgins are in
attendance to assist the sick or the elderly. Fill your own jug to take
home a gift of the gods.
