There are many mysteries that surround the legendary Queen Himiko, not least where Yamatai, her kingdom, was actually located back in the 3rd century AD. Possible locations had been essentially narrowed down to two: Kyushu (九州, the southernmost of the four main islands) and Yamato Province (大和), which was in what is today Nara-ken (奈良県, Nara Prefecture)
But it might well be that these interrogations are over. In addition to the news of the Queen's tomb being found in Sakurai, Nara-ken, as Genji Murasaka reported last June, remains of what could be Queen Himiko's palace have also recently been discovered in Sakurai
