as promised i did a quick academic search today and ended up printing a 95 page article from the jstor database. i have no intention of reading it in the next few days, mind you, but i fully intend to place it within the bookcases of my new home...wherever and whenever that may be...

my original intent was to lift the background info off the first few pages and post it here (with appropriate citation of couse), but then i recalled this rather cutsey link that provides the same info complete with a chuckle (borderline tacky?) inducing metaphor. check it out: the first hard disk...it's got pics and everything :-)
