In the past hour, Fox News reported a 7.9 magnitude quake off American Samoa. Just now, there is an unconfirmed report of a tsunami washing "several hundred yards into" Pago Pago in American Samoa.

Tsunami alerts have also been raised for New Zealand, where Jo and Strabo live, in Aukland. I have sent an email to them to see if they are OK and will post here when I hear back.
