I wanted a literary challenge, but I didn't want to dive right into Ulysses. Since Portrait was a thin book I figured it would be easier. Wrong, I guess.

I admire you for getting as far as you did with War and Peace. I doubt I got a hundred pages in.

I used to devote each summer with reading a "difficult" book. Sometimes I managed to get through the book, sometimes I didn't.
